Vendors: Who We Work With and Why It Matters
Jeff AronsonMost people don’t think about vendors when they think about fabrication or repair work.
They should.
The quality of the parts, materials, and components that go into your vehicle depends heavily on who we choose to work with. At Aronson Racing Lab, we don’t just pick vendors based on price or availability.
We choose them based on how they do business.
It’s Not Just About the Product
A good product matters. But it’s only part of the equation.
We evaluate vendors based on:
- Communication
- Consistency
- Accountability
- Long-term reliability
Do they:
- Answer the phone or return calls?
- Respond to emails?
- Check in and maintain the relationship?
- Keep us informed on new products and updates?
What this means:
If a company doesn’t communicate, they don’t last long with us.
Relationships Over Transactions
We’re not interested in vendors who only show up when they want to sell something.
We look for companies that:
- Build real working relationships
- Stand behind their products
- Support us when issues come up
What this means:
We work with people who treat this like a partnership, not a one-time sale.
Product Quality and Pricing
Not every vendor sells the same level of product.
We evaluate:
- Is the product low, mid, or high-end?
- Does the quality match the price?
- Is it consistent across orders?
Cheap parts that fail don’t save anyone money.
Overpriced parts that don’t perform aren’t any better.
What this means:
We choose vendors whose pricing actually reflects the quality they deliver.
The Real Test: When Something Goes Wrong
Anyone can look good when everything goes right.
The real question is:
- Do they fix problems?
- Do they take responsibility?
- Do they make a bad situation right?
What this means:
If a vendor disappears when there’s an issue, they’re done.
Why We Don’t Work With “Corporate” Vendors
We don’t do business with companies that:
- Act like they’re too big to care
- Treat relationships like transactions
- Focus only on volume and sales
If a company isn’t willing to work with us and build a long-term, genuine relationship, we won’t work with them. It doesn’t matter how good their product is.
If they think they’re too good for us, then they’re too good for our customers.
If they’re willing to take advantage of us, then they’re ultimately taking advantage of the people we serve.
Our Standard
At Aronson Racing Lab:
- We’re not a volume-driven shop
- We’re not chasing the cheapest option
- We’re not cutting corners
And we don’t work with vendors who do.
We expect the same level of integrity from our vendors that our customers expect from us.
Why This Matters for You
The vendors we choose directly affect:
- The quality of the parts in your build
- The reliability of your vehicle
- How issues are handled if something goes wrong
What this means:
You’re not just trusting our work, you’re trusting the entire chain behind it.
The Bottom Line
We don’t build relationships with vendors based on convenience or price.
We build them based on trust, consistency, and how they treat us, because that ultimately affects how we’re able to take care of you.
At Aronson Racing Lab, we don’t just choose parts carefully.
We choose people carefully.
