In dirt oval kart racing, reducing friction and maintaining smooth bearing rotation are essential to maximizing rolling efficiency. Octopus Momentum is a lightweight, low-viscosity bearing lubricant developed exclusively for racing go-karts, where minimizing rotational resistance is a priority.

Designed for racing performance rather than extended lubrication intervals, Momentum is formulated to penetrate bearing components and provide a thin lubricating film between the balls, races, and other moving surfaces. Its low-viscosity formula is intended to reduce internal friction without the heavy resistance associated with conventional bearing greases.

Instructions for Use

Initial Bearing Preparation — 48-Hour Soak

1. Clean and Dry: Begin with thoroughly cleaned and completely dry racing kart bearings. Remove all existing grease, lubricants, dirt, and debris. For serviceable bearings with removable shields or seals, follow the bearing manufacturer's instructions for removal and cleaning.

2. Submerge Bearings: Place the bearings into a suitable chemical-resistant container and completely submerge them in Octopus Momentum. Allow the bearings to soak for 48 hours.

3. Agitate Bearings: After the first 8 hours of soaking, gently agitate the bearings within the lubricant at least twice during the remaining soaking period. This helps dislodge trapped air bubbles and allows the lubricant to reach internal bearing components. Gently rotate the inner races while submerged to help distribute lubricant throughout the bearing assemblies.

4. Drain Excess Lubricant: After 48 hours, remove the bearings and allow them to drain until no additional lubricant drips from the assemblies.

5. Wipe Bearings: Using a clean, dry, lint-free cloth, carefully wipe away excess lubricant from the exterior of each bearing. Avoid introducing lint, dirt, or other contaminants into the bearing assemblies.

6. Inspect Bearings: Manually rotate each bearing to check for smooth, consistent movement. Inspect for roughness, binding, excessive play, or contamination. Replace bearings showing signs of damage or abnormal operation.

7. Reassemble and Install: Reinstall any removable bearing shields or seals according to the manufacturer's instructions. Install the lubricated bearings onto the racing kart, ensuring proper fitment and alignment.

Important Information

FOR RACING GO-KART USE ONLY. Octopus Momentum is developed specifically for serviceable racing kart bearing applications where low rotational resistance and frequent maintenance are priorities.

Not all bearings are suitable for oil lubrication. Do not use Momentum in permanently sealed, non-serviceable bearings or bearings requiring grease unless the bearing manufacturer specifically approves the application. Not intended for engine, transmission, or other high-load bearing applications.

Safety: Clean and service bearings in a well-ventilated area away from sparks, flames, hot surfaces, and other ignition sources. Follow the cleaning solvent manufacturer's instructions. Wear appropriate eye protection when using compressed air, and never allow bearings to spin freely at high speed under compressed air. Ensure all cleaning solvents have evaporated completely before soaking bearings in Octopus Momentum.
