Accurate fabrication starts with a clear layout. Octopus Blood is a purple layout fluid intended to provide a contrasting surface for scribed lines during measuring, marking, and fitting.

For laying out hole locations, cut lines, and machining features, Blood is intended to make your marks easier to distinguish from the surrounding metal. Apply to a clean surface and allow it to dry before scribing.

Application Tips

For best results, apply a thin, even layer of Octopus Blood Layout Fluid. Applying too much fluid can cause pooling, clumping, and an uneven coating, resulting in inconsistent drying.

Begin by thoroughly cleaning the metal surface. Apply a small amount of Octopus Blood Layout Fluid to the desired area using a standard paintbrush. Brush in long, smooth, consistent strokes to distribute the fluid evenly across the surface.

Continue brushing to achieve a thin, uniform coating, adding small amounts of fluid as needed. Once even coverage is achieved, allow the fluid to dry completely before marking your part.
